Hello from stormy Florida!

The day before yesterday we left our snow bound little world and went out looking for sunshine. After what it seemed a very long and exhausting day we finally end up in a breezy orange field—actually a place called Orlando, in Central Florida. I love it here and we usually come here every year when our little valley gets rocked by winter's best. But the weather here is not honoring our wishes of sunshine and bright mornings this year. We were under a tornado warning this afternoon… tornado watches were issued throughout Florida as strong storms came off the Gulf of Mexico. And there was heavy rain tearing bits of cloud, and a wisp of mad air whistled through the trees bringing swirls and swirls of leaves that reminded me of fall. A sort of blue rain fell down all afternoon from the dark clouds, and then there was the terrifying sound of thunder and flashes of lightening. I love rain and rainy days, but I’m terrified by lightening… tonight I will dream of clear waters and perpetual sunshine. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day…

  1. Oh, Cielo, you even can make a rain storm look luscious & elegant! Be safe, enjoy the pitter patter of those blessed beads that are nourishing spring, soon to emerge from beneath that soil

    Have a lovely trip ~

  7. Oh Cielo- You are in Orlando? Do you know I was about the 10th person in line the day they opened Disney World to the public? Yes I was! We lived in Ft. Myers then and I was just a kid (kinda)-

And, I have to tell you that I LOVED the big afternoon thunderstorms. My youngest son and I would sit inside the patio overhang (screened enclosure) and watch the storms rage outside. I loved the excitement of the storm..and, we were far enough South that you could set your clock by them during rainy season (as they came every day).

Enjoy your time there. I don't think we are going this winter..the timing won't work out with our jobs...sigh...Kiss Mickey for me, will you? Hugs-Diana

  9. Hi Cielo,
I hope the weather improves and you have a lovely holiday. My niece and her family are there now and we are going with some of our family in April.
    I love the photo!

  10. So nice to have you on this side of the world - despite the stormy weather -
I am the opposite - I will run to windows - even outdoors - to my family's dismay to see the brilliance in the sky - I am and always have been fascinated by storms. One year I was outside and saw the deepest darkest clouds literally swirling above me - I was transfixed - later to find that a tornado touched down 1/2 mile east of us. I saw its beginnings - thankful God looks out for such as me. Lovely photo - hope you have a safe and warm visit!
