Hi friends! Did you all have a nice Thanksgivings Day? Did you get to cozy up in your nest surrounded by dear family and friends? Oh I hope you did!
The leaves have all fallen to the ground around here, with the exception, of course, of the ornamental pear tree, which insists in keeping all of its beautiful burgundy leaves (another garden miracle perhaps?) An awesome sight, indeed! The air has turned windy and cold (very cold in fact), and Thanksgivings was spent with family and friends over a wonderful table filled with food, adorned in white and gold…
I close my eyes and still feel the thankfulness in my heart. There’s so much to be thankful for, that one day is not enough to pause and express my gratitude for the goodness and generosity of our Creator. My heart is overflowing with thanksgivings... for life, for health, for happiness and comfort, for loved ones and friends, for family and more family to come! Yes!! And of course, thankfulness for a single tree with full limps and roses in the snow…
I know that if I tell you that the special bird I was waiting for came to visit my garden for yet another year on Thanksgivings Day, some of you might not believe me. But he did! He was here; awesome, and majestic in his own right! I was deeply moved in my heart by this... Oh God, source and giver of all things, You manifest your infinite majesty, power and goodness in the earth about us, and I give you honor and glory... Thou whose bounty fills my cup.
I am also thankful for you, for this wonderful space we all have created here in this amazing world called 'Blogland'; a warm and real place to come to and be together; a place where we can meet whenever we want, or need, and nurture other's heart and be nurtured as we share so much of ourselves…

Truly grateful. May you and yours be blessed!
I love all the gold and white. Everything looks so pretty and elegant! Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving blessings with us.
ReplyDeleteCielo, Your new header is lovely, fresh and sweet. How wonderful to have roses in the snow and I see they continue your gold theme...just for you!
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family and children's laughter....and just enjoyed being together for another special Holiday! I'm glad that you were blessed with a wonderful Holiday too! Hugs-Diana
Hello Cielo Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh what beauty you have given me tonight. I love, love the tables you decorated for the family. How beautiful the quilted cloth looks with the golden runner. I love it. The colors are so rich together. White for the purity of God and gold for the crown that adorns him. So pretty and the mercury glass candle holders are so gorgeous. Simply exquisite sweetie.
Oh how exciting for you beautiful winged friend to make his yearly appearance. I am sure that God himself has something to do with this timing. He knew you were waiting and made she your winged friend appeared on time as needed. It made you heart so joyous, I could feel the swell clear out here in the desert.
Oh honey I thank you for the beautiful share. I would someday love to walk through your gardens of love. How beautiful they are. The roses have been iced over, but are still standing tall for all to see.
Have a gorgeous weekend sweet friend. Thank you again for the beautiful share of love. I so enjoy stopping by to visit, your gardens and in the winter months love peering out the windows with you.
Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Absolutely a beautiful post. YOU say the things I think and feel and you say them perfectly. I always so enjoy & love your blog, one of my all time favorites. What a beautiful soul and heart you have Cielo. God bless you for the happiness you so lovingly give to others.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness your posts are gorgeous! If I had a magazine you would be on the cover.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Olivia
Dearest Cielo,
ReplyDeleteThat was a warmly written blog! Glad you had a home full of family.
Well, I wish I could have my Mom & Dad over from The Netherlands, to cook for them but that's impossible with the distance and Mom's condition... So we just live on the memories, they ware last here in October 2005. Life is not forever and if we tried to live without our heavenly Father, we would not manage the journey alone.
For first immigrants it is always different during those holidays but we're grateful for having been adopted into the hearts of our American family. Sharing a meal with new 'kins' is a blessing!
Also on Blogland you do find like-minded people who value at least partly the very same. That gives hope in a world around us where good manners and high ethics and morals seem to be declining every year...
Thanks for your contribution to feeling good about each other!

ReplyDeleteGoodmorning. We traveled to spend Thanksgiving with my siblings. This was a bittersweet time as we laughed and enjoyed each other's company because earlier this year our brother was taken from us. We are all we have left. I am so thankful to God for his grace, mercy and provision. The friendships and love we develop here enhance our lives and I believe we take that love with us.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful Saturday,
Kathy
My, you've really changed up your site, very nice. I love that candelabra, chandelier? on the first photo, but all your pictures are gorgeous.
