Our love for all things Boho

Some Boho love... a vibrant color palette, vintage thrift-store finds, mix-and-match fabric patterns, antique mirrors, brightly hued candles and travel-themed accessories. Creating a boho chic decor is fairly simple... you just have to love it!

Love old photographs and love decorating with it.

Back when I was 11 years old and living in Madrid, I learned how to play the guitar... my dream back then was to become a great gypsy jazz guitar player. I only got as far as being a church guitar soloist... haha! When I left my paternal home I left my guitar with my parents and never recover it. This one here is my youngest son's guitar. It was my gift to him.  He taught himself to play the guitar when he was in high school.

Oh and have you noticed my gorgeous Boho shoes?... love love love them!

A thrift store treasure!

They're now my dancing 'zapatos gitanos' (gypsy shoes).  Moonlight falls on the ripples of water of a nearby creek and shines like glitter in the night.  A round full moon offers to lead the way as you go down the wooded trail to the Gypsy Camp... evening breezes carry with it the scent of jasmine and the sound of the Spanish gypsy guitars.... Las gitanas bailan flamenco.

Can  you tell I'm obsessed? ;)

My Boho room... love it so much!  I'll show you more of it later.

OK, now I have to show you how my favorite shoes look on my feet! ;)

And look... they're red under... love my skirt too!  Another thrift treasure.

Good night everyone and thank you for coming by!

Rainy days

It's been raining around here for the last couple of days... the sky's been low; leaden with torrential clouds and the garden is looking supple, and dense with the myriads of petals gifted by yielding roses; resembling the wet dark English garden of old books... I can hear the mystifying sound of raindrops hitting hard on the pebbles on the left side of the garden. It made me want to go outside and be drenched in whatever magic possesses the rain; dress in bluntness and truthfulness so vital. I am loving it. Looking outside the window at how comfortable doves and birds seem to be with this kind of weather; never fearing, as I am too, so at ease with this estrange sinuosity in which the garden has wrapped itself with, and the gloominess that transpires and fills our earth with a charming sense of stillness and haziness and mystery...

From my window—the world is at peace. I am at peace. I am so humbly grateful.

Roaming the wildland

Roaming the earth in our gypsy caravan off we went... another trip; another wish satisfied as we wandered off the earth; over the wild sides—drifting away beside deep precipices, and gravel road and mountain edges on the boundaries of the periphery in our gypsy caravan.

We had a day full of wildlife and bird viewing. Finally, we settled into our lovely encampment...

Because our gypsy caravan it really is a tent trailer, which means that thing have to be taken down and put up again time after time, nothing is always the same here. There is always a different feel to it, a different luster and sheen.

Candles, bling and shimmer and lovely textured fabrics with a bit of sparkle; things that help represent the wild, colorful lives of the gypsies of old.

I love the flowery background I chose for this trip; exotic and on the wild bohemia side... and I love the luster and beautiful reflections these new candles throw to the overall atmosphere of the gypsy caravan...

These candles come in lovely glass jars, and the best part—they are flameless battery operated candles.  No worries, no need for a flame or match...just two AAA batteries (included).  Found at TJ Maxx

I added some long strands of beads around the veils.... this is actually a small party curtain I found at Hobby Lobby.  Love how they add sparkle and sound to the tent...

The view from our 'master bedroom' window wasn't as great as on our last trip, but once you came down to the lake this is what you got....

And the river...

Back at our camp... in our living room.

Our fridge and some of the food in it...

The fisherman...

And master chef

Our fabulous kitchen table

Cool clear water... so marvelous and transparent it almost looked as if there were no water at all.

Some stars must had fallen down from heaven onto the water... see them shimmering above the waters? I never did notice how lovely light was playing on the edge of the water until some time later I saw these pictures.  They haven't been retouched in any way... that is just how the sun was shining on the water... lovely.

Love the abundance of wildflowers in this place
Oh, and I just had to show you my hippie groovy peace symbol necklace! ;) Make love, not war!

Long post I know but oh well... ;)

See you soon!
