Time suspended

A lazy summer day… what’s one to do on a lazy summer day, when the house is quiet and no one is around? It's such a pleasure to be so pleased, to be at ease on a summer's day! So I go out to the garden, lean against the iron gate that keeps the neighbor’s dog out of the flowerbeds, intruders from peeking inside, and look around; pleased with every single petal and every single grass I see.

I am alone in the garden, thinking about the heat of July, about the blue sky, about the need for a good rain. "Ssssh," listen… can you hear it? Certainly, summer is a season of sounds: bumblebees buzzing, birds chirping amid branches and the ice clinking in glasses of fresh lemonade.

There's a time in each year that we always hold dear, Good old summertime... --Ren Shields, Lyrics "In the Good Old Summertime" (1902)

  4. Just last night I was sitting on the front porch and listening to the sounds of summer and it brought back memories of my childhood with my old friends and Parents.

I cried alittle, but was glad to have those memories. Making new ones each summer with the Grandkids.

  6. Last night we had a thunder storm I sat on the porch and listen to it roll in from the mountains. It was peaceful and forceful at the same time I too love summer.

  11. There's nothing that can compare! I love to see and to hear the bees and the birds! I stifle a laugh when I watch the tiny Hummingbirds with their big hearts battling over one feeder - little soldiers - watching from left to right - I love to hear the bees and watch them devour the pollen knowing that down the road my neighbor and friend houses their honeycombs to produce the sweet nectar we enjoy - Summer is definitely a pleasure and a blessing.
    Hugs to you!
