Stormy days

We are having a blissfully gloomy day around here... high temperatures have been replaced with cool, rainy clouds and you can see the occasional lightning and hear the far off rumble of thunder across the skies. Although lightning really scares me, I love the music thunder makes, and I love the feeling of coziness and relaxation that comes with cloudy stormy days... a perfect moment to run to my "cubs den", light up some candles and cozy up!

Ah yes, I love it here in my girly cubs den, especially during the rainy season. This is also my special "winter" hideout... the place of all places to be and just do as I please and decorate as I wish! I have to be very careful when decorating around here, you know... nothing would offend my male pixies more than having to live in a girly frilly pinkish home... Males pixies are not allowed here anyway, and they won’t come even if I let them... Which is perfectly fine by me! So today I'm claiming this room all to my royal self! Oh a blissful moment of thunder under the spell of candlelight... Wonderful!

Do you have a special place to call "your own"? Oh I hope you do!

  3. Enchanting to say the very least!!
I have a little bat cave, as my husband calls it, where I create.
I love to place tea light candles into dainty tea cups at night and watch the patterns come to life on the china. I place then into a glass votive holder to protect the delicate china. I am sure you have wonderful tea cups in your enchanted house in the roses...

  5. What a sweet loveseat! What is it covered with?? Is that a slipcover or did you use something else?? I love the ruffles. It looks so inviting...so cozy. I, too, love thunder. Lightening doesn't frighten me, but I wouldn't want to be out in it. I love the sound of rain.
I am turning my youngest grown son's room into a getaway for myself...a girly room...sewing room...reading room...music room. I so want to do something to the walls, but hate to paint walls....I'm painting my walk=in closet and it is taking me forever. Once I get this spare bedroom into what I want, I know that I will spend more time in there. It's the process...
if you have a second, check out the chandeliers that I posted on my blog last night...you'll love them...they are supposed to be for children's rooms...awesome!
    hugs to you

  12. What a gorgeous little hideaway you have made, perfect for the fairy-at-heart. I am so envious of you, my big male-pixie won't let me do up a room so girly. My next home is going to have my own corner to do in romantic lace and crystal candles.

  14. Hi Cielo. Your girl-ish room is so beautiful. I have one too, a house actually, but it´s filled with unfinished project, pearls and vintage textiles. It´s more lika a workshop. Maybe I should convert it to a cosy place and a place to rest instead of work...

Yes, we had drenching rain a few days ago and the nights are cooling and the autumnal breezes are once again coming to our valley also. I am truly loving it.
