While I'm out walking through the frozen December rose garden, deep in snow, I can't help but think of those lucky gardeners in warmer climates (south Texas, southern California, Florida, and parts of the Southwest), possibly with their roses still in bloom...
We're expecting more snow for tonight, old snow turned ice crackles under my feet, deep silence has descended upon the garden, not a sound, not a flower in bloom... yet, there is magic in the air... the garden is filled with perfume from forgotten roses.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, a pretty new Header! :-)))
ReplyDeleteAnd a lovely way to see your winter garden... With magic still in the air, and filled with the perfume of forgotten flowers.
Those roots and seeds are slumbering under their blanket of snow. So as to be full of vigor, when Spring warms the ground and wakes them.

Have I ever said thank you, for not having Word Verification turned on? If not, I say it now.
ReplyDeleteI know that some bloggers find it necssary to have Word Ver. turned on. But I'm always so happy to comment in a blog, and find it's not on. :-)
Comment Verification setting is turned on, in mine. That way I know no SPAM will get through, since I read comments, before Publishing them. So I don't have any need of Word Ver. Well, so far anyway. :-)
Just a little thank you note, in Blog Land. :-)
I can't wait til spring and when the garden comes alive again.

Cielo, La nieve se ve tan bonita. Aqui no tenemos nieve y todo se ve muerto y sin color.
ReplyDeleteAll is lovely. There is beauty to be found in all seasons when we just take the time to notice.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you and your family, Cielo.

HALO CEILO,
ReplyDeletelove this post , beautiful frozen roses still lovely. I live in Fort Worth, Texas and it has been snowing here today. Which is quite out of the norm as you mentioned. Our past winters have been really mild but this year we had 3 inches of snow for Christmas Eve ( which was magical ) and today snowing again. I love springtime but I am just being happy enjoying some winter.
HAPPY NEW YEAR BLESSINGS TO YOU.
Always such a pretty place to visit here,Cielo!
ReplyDeleteDear Cielo.....you always manage to stimulate my imagination.....I can smell the sweet perfume.
ReplyDeleteAs I type it is raining....the garden is waterlogged....we have had so much rain....BUT at least I am now walking towards spring.......
The garden is only slumbering it will wake soon. We have 10 inches of snow here in KC with more falling. But it was a lovely white Christmas. Happy New Year. Stella
