Nice little things...

I’m trying to concentrate in being happy with my surroundings… making my house comfortable and neat. Cleaning and changing sheets and making sure is lit up prettily. A dark house in winter can make you feel lethargic and miserable. I love the soft light of lamps and the tinkling lights that come from candles. So my spicy scented candles are always lighted… it is part of my rituals of winter. Sooo... I really am in love with decorating my house in my favorite romantic cottage style. These pretty pictures which I spotted in my picture file on my laptop today inspire me… enough that I just had to share them with you! I have oodles of photographs in my files, but I don’t think I’ve shown you these before, so enjoy!

...and of course I had to throw in one or two images of my garden; a happy reminder of what's soon to come!

Be Peaceful
Float Away and
Have a most beautiful weekend
my sweet friends!

  1. GORgeous pictures!
Those pale yellow roses are so beautiful and I thank you for sharing your winter rituals to ward off the blues!
We have not had even an inch of snow here in the Chicago area and today it was 60! In January, mind you!
Oh my heavens. Not complaining, just sharing the unusual facts!!

Thanks for sharing your garden shots too.
    Love them all!

  2. The pictures are so lovely. I too light candles in this season, more than usual. I am still decorating our home and it keeps me busy. Just remember as each day passes now we have at least one more minute of daylight.

  3. Peacefully beautiful, and I too have lit candles around my home most winter nights. Home is where we want to feel our best, isn't it? Your home most certainly evokes a sense of peace, warmth, & welcome.

  5. so pretty I too like the light of small lamps so better than the glaring light of over head lighting. Not a fan of winter and the darknesss.

  7. I love the light from candles and small lamps too. MY husband always wants those darn ceiling lights on and I HATE them. So harsh.

I am also looking forward to spring. Hurry up! :)

  11. So lovely and romantic!

I wanted to let you know about a new "Imagine the Impossibilities" challenge The concept is to tackle your most daunting task now ... as a way to kick off the new year ... and then share your story at a multi-blog link party on January 31. Here's the link to my post about it ....

    http://itallstartedwithpaint.blogspot.com/2012/01/mission-impossibilities.html

It all culminates at a multi-blog link party on January 31.

And your "impossibility" doesn't have to be diy or home decor ... it could be cooking ... or organizing .... or learning a new language ... or booking that trip you always wanted to take .... or finally finishing War & Peace ... You get the gist, right?

So here's to tackling our "impossibilities" together ...

    Blessings,

    Linda
