Emptiness

I’m not sure fairytales can even begin to describe how wonderful the last couple of weeks have been… the mellow breath of pre-autumn had not only brought delicious days our way, but also some very dear people, with mom and dad and Alan home for a few days... seeking shade in mid afternoon, inhaling in contentment on the last hurrah of summer glow…
I am back again into my little virtual book of thoughts, back to my routine... I always feel this when people I love have just left. There is a kind of parting of the air, whatever it is, as if I were going through something like the parting of the ocean, some extraordinary aloneness that is frightening for a little while, or at least feels very empty...

  1. I know how you feel Cielo...
when I leave my family I always have a sadness. It is an empty feeling, but then I treasure all the special time we do spend together.
I am always strong for my Mom and Dad and try to hold it together as well as possible...but the sadness always lingers a little...

  2. Put all these precious memories in a beautiful box with pearls and lace in your mind.
To open and use when needed. As a box of chocolate... but this box can be opened anywhere and anytime for comfort and joy.

  3. G'morn sweet Cielo ~ Yes, it is hard to let them go back to their lives as they are so enjoyed & loved while with us ... but I treasure my life returning, also. Moments to hold close to my heart ...

Have a beautiful weekend, my friend.

  5. Yes, it can be bittersweet. But as you remember the visit, the memories become new treasures.

  6. I can certainly imagine the sadness/emptiness when loved ones have to leave. They always bring a really happy energy to your home...I guess I'd focus on the blessing that their presence brings!!! I'm glad that you had a chance to spend some time together.

Oh, the photo of the pink roses are beautiful!!! Their petals remind me of crepe/tissue paper :) :) Have a lovely day. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :) :)
