SHOW OFF YOUR COTTAGE MONDAY

It was broad daylight when she awoke and sat up in bed, staring confusedly at the window through which a flood of cheery sunshine was pouring and outside of which something white and feathery waved across glimpses of blue sky...
For a moment she could not remember where she was. First came a delightful thrill, as something very pleasant... Indeed, it was morning and, yes, it was a cherry-tree in full bloom outside of her window. With a bound she was out of bed and across the floor... She pushed up the sash--it went up stiffly and creakily, as if it hadn't been opened for a long time, which was the case; and it stuck so tight that nothing was needed to hold it up.
Anne dropped on her knees and gazed out into the April morning, her eyes glistening with delight. Oh, wasn't it beautiful? Wasn't it a lovely place? Suppose she wasn't really going to stay here! She would imagine she was. There was scope for imagination here...
Ok, no, I'm not Ann of Green Gables, and this is not Prince Edward Island...

But it almost feels like it, for spring has sprung in my garden! Besides, the imaginative Anne Shirley has lived in my heart for such long long time (ever since I can remember), that truly, sometimes I'm quite sure she visits my garden... indeed, spring has sprung in my garden. How do I know; I just saw the daffodils blooming... and the red and yellow tulips and the blooming flowering pear tree...

This is just the beginning of the season, and yet there is already something about spring in the air that brings everything to life in a mysterious and enchanting way. I have planted many perennial… like old friends they will return year after year, growing in size and stature until they reach their full maturity, and I have also planted many summer bulbs... As the sun warms the dull land, I am drawn to tip-toe the garden, barefooted in morning dewy grass, and watch the transformation take place. The warmer it gets, the louder the whispers of Shasta daisies and periwinkles vines...
The air is filled with songs and the call of courtship. The songs keep coming from every direction… twittering fills the tops of the pine and trees, chickadees and juncos hardly pause as they flit about in a springtime frenzy being musical, territorial, amorous, I see them carrying all sort of things with them in the making of their nests...
My spirit soars with joy and anticipation as I hear spring’s gentle march through my garden, and so, I will sit here and wait... and wait, for the arrival of the roses...
Alas, that's what I'm celebrating: the arrival of spring to my garden... What are you celebrating about your home and life today? I love to hear about it! Add your link below, just please be sure to: 1. Copy and paste our little logo on your blog.
2. Link back to the house in the roses from your post so that your readers can come and see what everyone else is celebrating today!

Your garden looks so beautiful Cielo! It is just so lovely to see all of these spring flowers everywhere. I will have to keep coming back to visit you so I can be reminded of Spring since we are approaching winter here in Australia and it has been wet and miserable!

Thanks for having me today.

Best wishes,
Natasha.

Cielo, your name is as pretty as your cottage garden; I love all the blossoms, and your mention of Anne, since I am currently reading Anne of Green Gables for the first time. She is entrancing, such a bubbly romantic.

Cielo! I knew that quote was from Anne the minute I started it. You look adorable in that photo! I see we have another connection besides fairies and gardens and candles and roses and... dunno what else! It's Anne! I have loved her all my life, too.
