Fall is here!

The sweetest of all fairies and her daddy our son Alan had flown back to their Georgia home early this morning. The house in the roses has returned to the familiar quietness; stillness and sweet memories lingering in the air… a hint of melancholy has kept me to myself for most of the day, but as the first cold snap sends me to the cedar trunk to embrace the warm woolen blankets, I am reminded that the happiest time of the year is here…

It is time to gather around the hearth, time for pumpkin pie, time to think about the turning leaves and cooling nights, and time to bring that cozy feeling into the house...

Autumn is a time of rebirth and a time to be happy!

What are your plans to cozy up your home for fall? I would love to hear what you're doing.

Cielo ~ I only decorate the porch for the different seasons, except for Christmas. I am not one to enjoy change as I have everything placed exactly where I want it. So my big fall event is flowers on the front porch pedestal & a floral wreath.

Have a lovely autumn eve, my friend. TTFN ~Marydon

Ceilo I have been gone for a few days on a marvelous trip. Hope you'll stop by for the next few days to see the photos. I am home & tired but, had to post & then catch up with my favorite Blog friends before going to bed. Can't wait to read the next post. As for fall...I can't wait to put all my pretties out. That's another post but, I am really ready as I see you are too. LOVE THE NEW BANNER!

Hi, Cielo! Love the new look here for autumn--it is so lovely! I would love a slice of that pumpkin pie--I've been craving pumpkin anything most days just now--LOL! I don't do a lot of decorating for fall, sadly--not with lots of displays and things. I do put out different table linens, candles, and small touches like that. A cozy throw/blanket or two in the living room hand for curling up with--must have those too! It's cozy time...time to enjoy! Happy Days ((HUGS))

Hello Cielo
It is a lovely time of the year! I have never tried pumpkin pie! Yours looks so good that it inspires me to look up a recipe. Is there one that you can recommend please?
I love making autumn wreaths with berries and leaves at this time of the year.

I decorated last week, could not wait. This week making candles with the scent of fall. The house smells so good. Soon the scents will be of real food, like cookies, pies and cakes. Love this time of year.

IN this country we don't do much about fall decorating. Just a pumpkin here and there, that's all. Christmas is anothr story. Them we decorate to the fullest.

Since I am not into too much of the fall colors, I limit my fall decorating to mostly tablescapes..a wreath over the mantel but in colors more to my liking (not much orange at all..brick reds, golds...I like),
a wreath of golden on my front porch..a few pumpkins scattered around. It isn't cold here yet so I've not brought out my rugs and snuggling quilts as yet...can't wait, tho. It is no secret that my favorite time of year is WINTER...
hugs, bj
