A day in my life...

I’ve been busy these past couple of days… yesterday we had some friends over for dinner in the garden… we had such a lovely time. The hot afternoon weather finally bowed before the cool evening, and as the day waned the garden took on a new persona…

We ate and talked and laughed and talked some more until the moon came out and the scent of petunias filled the night air and the garden became a magical world... As we enjoyed the beauty of the night, we watched the fireflies turn on their lights… one of nature's best shows features for sure: the signals that fireflies exchange as they search for mates on warm summer nights. I can just but marvel and wonder how these little bugs turn their belly lanterns on and off so quickly...

The morning brough a new beginning... it was cleaning day today… It is always a wonderful feeling when your house is clean, don't you think? And, of course, as I clean, I enjoy my things as I go along...

Can you tell yet how much I love tarnished silver? Is everywhere in my house...

I'm ready to go to bed now... I'm so tired. Remember when you were a little girl, or a little boy and you knelt beside your bed at night: "Dear Lord, hear my evening prayer. Thank you for your loving care. Bless all those I love tonight. Keep us safe till morning light, and make tomorrow a wonderful day".

Good night every one!

Glimpses of your home, are magical, as always. The dear tarnished silver... The roses on old tea cups... The Faerie lights...

But oh, how I'd love to know how you keep mosquitoes at bay, in order to enjoy your yard/garden. I can't step out the door, in summer, without being attacked by mosquitoes. Unless I spray myself with mosquito repellent. And that kind of ruins the spell... -le sigh-

Do you have some magic potion, to keep mosquitoes at bay, without use of an awful repellent spray... but not hinder the Fireflies?

Gentle hugs on this Saturday...

What a great post and I do remember those prayers at night. I also love the way my house smells and feels after I dust and clean it and shine it all up to sparkle. My only problem is that some days I procrastinate and end up cleaning it late at night in the dark:)

Unfortunatly I prayed the "now I lay me down to sleep if I should die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take"---Not quite as comforting as your prayer ;-)

Dont you have any trouble with mosqitoes when you eat outside?

And lastly--I have nicky-nacky things (I know I shouldn't call them that!! ) , but I do hate dusting--I suppose I should try to cultivate your attitude of handling things I love....HA!

Hi Cielo! Your photos are beautiful! I clean all of my ceiling fans yesterday and vaccuum above the doorways. Where does all this lint come from? :D
Thank you for sharing your pics with us.
Blessings,
Sandra

Hi, Cielo -
Your garden party looks like it was wonderful. I love your patio lights and you've inspired me to add some by next year. Right now they are on sale - maybe I'd better hurry and get some to enjoy through the fall months! I've been stopping by and see what you're doing but haven't slowed down long enough say hi most of the time. Need to remedy that, don't I?
