Tablescape Thursday and an amazing give-away!

With summer just officially beginning, I want to be outside planting flowers, stretching out on a chaise with a book breathing fresh air, watching the birds fluttering around the birdfeeders, inviting friends over for cocktails and food under the stars and moonlight, and of course, setting a pretty table that echoes all that I love about spring and summer.

How would you define a beautiful summer table? Pots of colorful flowers, floral pattern tablecloths in spring pastels, artful foliage in soft blues and greens in plates and cups as lovely as an April morning....

Actually, most of anything you have in your kitchen or cupboards would work. Choose whatever you have on hands, even mismatch platters and dishes. Things don't always have to match to look great. Green with yellow with purple with a bold flower print-- it’ll look really bright and fun!

A good place to look is your local thrift shop; after all, they almost never have things that match. I was lucky enough thought, to find these lovely yellow pieces in a leafy design at a thrift store a while ago. Every piece is intact, and it is a complete set for eight.

They’re perfect for my summer scenes in the garden on our outside table. And they compliment the surroundings so well with their lovely color and cheerful nature pattern!

With all the glorious things that fresh air and warm weather bring, it also delivers friendship, good conversation, and fun times with families and friends. When was the last time you invited a new family over for dinner? This is the perfect time to do so, before it gets too hot! Besides, it's the perfect excuse to go buy some new pretty dishes!

Need some tips for your table? Perhaps looking for some inspiration? Let me tell you… I’ve found a wonderful place I know you'll love. The name is “Pfaltzgraff Dinnerware", and they have the biggest assortment of kitchen prep and cook tools, as well as the finest dinnerware, drinkware and flatware for your table. I know you'll love it... and guess what? In appreciation to all my readers, The House in the Roses is giving a $50.00 gift certificate to some lucky winner when you enter our give-away... so hurry, enter your name for some spectacular summer savings sale!

Such a lovely table setting - very inviting. Not to mention a beautiful yard as a backdrop.

I love Pfaltzgraff dinnerware. We have a set of the Holy Berry pattern and can't seem to put it away after Christmas.

The dishes are very unique, and matches the desert very well. I'm afraid I am not a fan of the table cloth, though. Maybe try a brighter color, or white table cloth?
